Head of Primary
Zana joined RISS as the Head of Primary school in July 2019. A Canadian by passport, but really a citizen of the world, she has gained vast teaching experience in Canada, Thailand, UAE and Switzerland.
She is an expert at teaching in classes with multiple first languages and cross-cultural backgrounds. Her passion for making learning accessible for all, while ensuring classes are a fun experience will contribute to sparking curiosity in all her students.
Zana holds two degrees from York University and the The University of Winnipeg in Canada, she is also a mother of a 2-year old girl and can’t wait to meet her new students at RISS.
Jennifer is starting her 10th year of teaching as a new primary teacher at RISS. She is from the United States, where she earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education and began her teaching career. Wanting to travel the world and grow professionally and culturally, she decided to move abroad and has taught in Malaysia and Colombia.
In the classroom, she enjoys creating a happy, engaging, hands-on learning environment where her students can reach their potential.
Outside of the classroom, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, playing with her cat, and exploring new places with her husband. She is excited for all of the new experiences and adventures awaiting her at RISS.
Jo moved to Singapore with her family at the beginning of 2019. She lived in Papua New Guinea and Australia for the last 10 years. Jo is originally from China. She has great respect and understanding of different cultures, this is what attracted her to joining us at RISS.
Jo is an English as a second language (ESL) teacher. She was instrumental in helping many Chinese students learn and practice English before they headed overseas for further education.
Jo has a degree in British and American Literature. She is excited to be back in the classroom and working with our students.
Parent Communication Officer
Sara joined RISS as our Parent Communication Officer in August 2019.
She is originally from England and has been living in Singapore for the last 10 years. Sara has a 1st class degree in Business Administration from Coventry University, UK. She is currently studying part-time a CIPD UK HR Diploma.
Outside of school, she enjoys traveling and basketball. She is also a mother of two boys; aged 12 and 9.
